If you have one you have to have the set, right? It's matchmaking, collector style. Possibly it's a sickness but we won't dwell on that. No matter what you are thinking (you pack rats in denial) you have all done your share of matchmaking. At some point you found something that seemed so necessary, so perfectly right and then you discovered it came in blue, it was part of a set of six or there was another one with a different handle. Etc. Did you manage to resist? Or did you go out there, exploring antique shops, flea markets, garage sales, the homes of friends and family, GoodWill and even... *gasp* retail stores! I hope you found it, and better yet, I hope you still had a smidgen of space to keep it. Even if you had to move part of your computer onto the floor, it was worth it. For that once in a lifetime matchmaking collection perfection. Now you have the set, the fully accessorized version and the whole (insert profanity of choice here) collection. So now what? Once you accomplished your collection goal, what's left? Well, the next one of course. What a silly question. My only question is... how do you manage the clutter? How do you organize all those special treasures, needful things and limited editions?
![]() Personally, I've found the best way to chop your clutter down is to move. Just pack up and leave. Try packing anyway. Once you start boxing things up and hauling them around you decide pretty quickly what you can manage to do without. Later you may regret it. But, aren't you kind of secretly glad to get rid of some of that stuff? Isn't the real thrill in acquiring it all rather than actually keeping it all. So, sell it all off. Only don't sell it as a whole collection. Why spoil the matchmaking for someone else. Let people buy a piece here and a part there. Then let it slip that there is another one, part of the set, with a handle, in blue... Maybe you could be convinced to sell it to them... how much did they say they could spend today? Onward it goes.
